Genette had fallen asleep across Pivri’s arm, hair draped over his shoulder like moss blanketing a rock. He couldn’t sleep. The thought of squirming out from under her to make last call crossed his mind, but it was whisked away by the dopamine rush of watching her chest rise and fall in the hotel room’s quiet slumber. So instead, he resorted to kissing her forehead and feeling her dissolve further into him, skin-on-skin under the sheets.
