Endo’s legs were not the only problem. The tremors in his arms and neck made it increasingly difficult to pull himself across the cell and eventually into the open tunnel, but after several hours of dragging his body behind him, Endo found himself at the base of the tunnel entrance looking up at a ladder that would get him into open air.
