Bert Anderson now lived a lonely and unexciting life, at least since being convicted of a crime he never committed. 

“Twelve counts of stalking in the third degree, five counts of forcible touching, three counts of criminal possession of a weapon on school grounds, three counts of public lewdness, three counts of stalking in the second degree, and one count of sexual abuse in the first degree,” the judge had said. “How do you plead?”

He had asked so matter-of-factly that Bert nearly fell back into his chair. 

“Not guilty.”
